Music download service Napster has signed a deal with mobile phone content developer Dwango Wireless that will see "Napster Mobile" launched across U.S. mobile phone operators.
The Napster Mobile service will offer mobile customers the chance to download ringtones and music content from the Napster catalog.
The service will be provided through an integrated solution that extends Napster PC services to mobile devices via special promotional offers targeted at specific mobile devices.
The service is set for launch in the U.S. and Canada in 2005 and will utilize a specially designed Napster interface.
Users will be able to download ringtones and earn credits redeemable on Napster PC-based service at the same time.
A spokesperson for Dwango said that it was very excited to be working with Napster and helping to extend its brand into the mobile arena.
