Introduction
Dust is always a major problem for hardware components, your machine running constantly day in and day out, you’re always going to get dust on components, and inside your machine. Ever thought about components you don’t use? In particularly memory slots and pci slots that are prone to dust. Vantec has released the SPK-08UV-BL - PCI & RAM Slot Protectors which ensure your PC slots are free and safe from dust.

Vantec in this instance have sent us the UV Reactive Green Slot Protectors to review, perfect for all you case modders. The Slot Protector kit also comes in a variety of colours including red, blue, black, yellow and of course green.

• RAM Slot Protector (3)
• PCI Slot Protector (5)
Inside the Vantec Packaging you will find 3 RAM Slot Protectors and 5 PCI slot protectors. Pretty much all is covered in this package. The only thing I think would have been good would have been the inclusion of an AGP Slot protector. Not all machines are using AGP Slots as some have onboard video. However the market Vantec is aiming it I am sure that the video card is one item that is upgraded straight away so one is not needed.
The Vantec Slot protectors features slotted connectors for clipping straight onto your DDR Ram slot.
Below is a closeup of the PCI slot protector, you can notice the thin stripe in the middle which is used for clipping directly into your empty PCI slot.
