AMD updates processor roadmap

AMD has an updated processor roadmap available for your viewing pleasure. The roadmap details AMD's processor plans through next year, but with the timeline segmented into six-month blocks, it's hard to draw any firm conclusions on release dates.

Despite its ambiguity, the roadmap reveals a few interesting tidbits, most notably that dual-core Opteron and Athlon 64 FX processors won't arrive until the second half of 2005. Dual-core replacements for AMD's FX-less Athlon 64s aren't listed at all, suggesting that they may not debut until 2006. The roadmap also indicates that single-core, 90-nano Opteron processors will arrive before the end of this year in 1xx, 2xx, and 8xx flavors.
