Security company Determina announced on Monday the second version of its memory firewall product, SecureCore. The software, based on the results of research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, aims to prevent programs from executing malicious commands, which helps protect systems against worms and other Internet attacks.

The new firewall uses emulation and compiler principles to stop programs from using security holes to circumvent PC and server protections, Determina said. The company claims that the software is 100 percent accurate and does not require updates to detect new threats.
