The Doom 3 SDK has finally been released, providing the gaming community with the necessary tools and whatnot to make modifications for Doom 3. Not only that, but id Software have launched id.sdk, a reference site that covers all the core elements of how the Doom 3 engine works. Programmer-types might want to check out the code page which contains some interesting tidbits - including this snippet about the physics code:
The Doom 3 game code ships with the entire Doom 3 physics system. There is absolutely no physics code in the core engine itself.
The race is on to see who can make the first popular mod and we'll no doubt see some awesome things coming out in the near future.
