OCZ Copper BGA Ramsinks - Page 1

Introduction:
As more and more people begin to push the limits of their hardware, cooling becomes an issue for most computers. Processors and chipsets seem to be well developed in the cooling department. But what about RAM, many believe ramsinks should be used as a way to get peak performance from their PC. However, many believe (as I do) that the concept is just a gimmick. OCZ has sent us a set of their Copper BGA Ramsinks to try out. Let’s see if they really do work.

What Do You Get?
OCZ has the ramsinks available in packets of 4 or 8. Each ramsink has 11 fins and has a ‘thermal’ tape backing to allow them to be stuck onto the video cards memory modules. The heatsinks are made 100% out of copper to allow for better heat dissapation. The dimensions of the ramsink are - 16x13x9mm (LxWxH)

Installation:
Could installation be any easier? No instructions needed here, just peel away the white backing tape and stick onto both sides of your video card (if you have enough). Make sure to remove dust or debris with a dry cloth to allow better heat transfer. They stick suprisingly well, when you look at the thickness of the thermal tape backing.
