OCZ Copper BGA Ramsinks - Page 2
Posted by Mitchell on 29 September 2004 (8040 views) Rating: 4.46
Performance:
The test rig consisted of:
• Pentium 2.4ghz Processor
• Gigabyte GA-8PE800 Pro –R Motherboard
• 512mb of Kingston DDR 333
• Sapphire Radeon 9100 128mb
• Running 3DMark03 Free Version on Windows XP Professional

I ran the test 3 times for each configuration, with 5 minute breaks in-between to allow for a bit of cooling.

Without ramsinks the resulting average was 1169 3DMarks.

With the OCZ ramsinks the average was 1171 3DMarks.

Conclusion:
While there is a slight gain in 3DMarks I’m not sure if this score justifies the purchase and use of these ramsinks on a standard PC. However I do believe that if you overclock your graphics card you may find some extra Mhz by using the ramsinks in combination with an 80mm fan blowing air over them.

Pros:
• Installation is way too easy
• They did provide some gain to graphics card performance
• Attractive
• Should allow a greater overclock on your GPU

Cons:
• Does the performance gain justify a purchase?
