However, there is one thing missing here…..INSTRUCTIONS. The Aerogate, surprisingly, does not come with instructions. This may seem like a small issue for advanced PC users, but for basic users the setup of this peripheral may be quite a challenge. Adding to this, none of the connections are labelled on the actual PCB itself so it is basically a gamble as to where to place the fan and temperature connections.

Setup:
The Aerogate uses the normal screw method to hold the device in the drive bay. I found it difficult as I had purchased a Coolermaster Centurion case with ‘Tool less’ locking mechanisms on all of the drive bays. This didn’t even come close to locking the Aerogate in place, I would have thought Coolermaster could have addressed that issue a little better.

The Aerogate by itself:

Pic shoing the rear PCB and fan/temperature connectors:

It’s great to finally put the Aerogate in place. DOH! I forgot to connect the fan and temperature sensors.

With the Aerogate you get 4 x Fan extension cables. They are pretty much useless if you fans run a Molex passthrough connection, luckily I had some converters lying around. Just slot the connectors in the order that you want them to appear on the Aerogate interface

There are also 4 temperature probes that come with the unit. They are quite useful for monitoring temperature but may create a bit of a cabling problem if you have too many wires strung around the case. The probes slide over the 2 pronged connector just like a small jumper clip.

Installation took me about 25mins, which included a total cable re-organisation.

Finally the Aerogate is in place and powered up!
